Holy Week – Pilgrim Cross

As Holy Week begins, my thoughts are with all those who are beginning their Easter pilgrimage to Walsingham on the many and varied ‘legs’ of Pilgrim Cross.

It was a big part of my life in the 1990s, giving me time to contemplate my own faith journey in a wonderfully supportive and entertaining(!) community. In the years since, I have always kept the pilgrims in my prayers, as they brave the weather, traffic and blisters bearing witness to the simple message of the Gospel in an increasingly complex world.

Here is a piece of music I began writing for the pilgrimage in 1998, and finally completed at the end of 2023 following years of mental block – more details can be found at https://mikestubbscomposer.com/the-royal-banners-forward-go/

Audio tracks generated using Cantamus app software

I hope to assemble a choir over summer to record this and other music for Holy Week.
