Easter Sunday – He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

Wishing everyone Paschal joy and blessings of the risen Jesus.

Here are three pieces of music inspired by the Easter Vigil.

First of all, an organ piece inspired by the Lantern of the Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool. In it, there are three sections that each conclude with reference to the call ‘Lumen Christi’ (Christ our light) from the beginning of the Vigil.

Next, a setting of the Song of Exodus for SATB choir and optional Tenor soloist. In the recording presented, the vocals have been generated using the Cantamus app.

Finally, a setting of the Responsorial Psalm/Gospel Acclamation, written for my dad’s 65th birthday. It is performed in the recording by the St Paul of the Cross Music Group.
