New Folk Song Setting

Earlier this evening I finished the first draft of a new choral piece for a concert at Liverpool Irish Centre in October.

It’s a setting of the song ‘The Hills of Connemara’, all about the battle of wits between the illicit Poitin distillers and the excise men tasked with their elimination.

It has been commissioned by Metropolitan Hope Voices for their Emerald Isle concert on Sunday 20th October – see the poster below for further details.
