The Baptism of the Lord

As we move into the first part of Ordinary Time, I have recorded the Prelude I wrote based on the hymn ‘On Jordan’s Bank’ as part of my St Paul of the Cross Little Organ Book project. It was originally intended for Advent, and so the running figure in the accompaniment (supposed to be the ‘flowing waters of the Jordan’) alludes to Bach’s Orgelbuchlein prelude ‘In Dulci Jubilo’.

Recorded on the organ of St Paul of the Cross R.C. Church, Burtonwood

I also took the opportunity to record another three preludes from the project:

Recorded on the organ of St Paul of the Cross R.C. Church, Burtonwood

Information about the ‘St Paul of the Cross Little Organ Book’ project can be found here.

Wishing you all a (slightly belated) Happy New Year,

Mike
