Choir and Orchestra

This is a setting of the Magnificat antiphons for the week before Christmas – possibly best known as the hymn ‘O Come O Come Emmanuel’ – for choir and orchestra. It was written for the final concert of the 2017 season, celebrating the golden jubilee of the opening of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.
O Emmanuel was first performed on Saturday 9 December 2017 at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, Liverpool, by the Cathedral Orchestra and Cantata Choir, conducted by David Lewis.
