This is a setting of the traditional Irish song about the battle of wits between the illicit Poitin distillers and the excise men tasked with their elimination.

It was commissioned by Metropolitan Hope Singers for their ‘Emerald Isle’ concert at Liverpool Irish Centre in October 2024 where it received its first performance, accompanied by the composer on the guitar.
