These three songs for children were written between 2002 and 2004, and were performed individually in different concerts in Bolton.
The pieces are long, so cuts to verses can be made as desired.
All the pieces are written for three equal parts, but can be sung in unison – the top line is normally the main melody.
In the vocal score, the lyrics under the parts are colour coded to help young children follow their own line.
The piano part is kept fairly simple throughout – pianists are encouraged to embellish it as they see fit!
‘The Amazing Adventures Of
Simple Simon’ also has parts for a samba band – the words under the percussion parts at the start of are short phrases that I have found help the children play the required rhythm.
